Many Og Karate Kid fans might disagree with this article, but the ones that really paid attention to Karate Kid and Cobra Kai would know that Miguel Diaz is one of the best fighters from the Miyagiverse.
Now that when we mention great fighters from the Miyagiverse, we talk about fighters like Sato, Mr. Miyagi, Daniel San, Terry Silver, John Kreese, Johnny Lawrence, Mike Barnes, etc., we can arguably say that Miguel Diaz is a better fighter than most of those names mentioned in their prime.
Miguel Diaz won the All Valley Tournament and also made it to the semi-finals after suffering an injury that almost made him paralysed for life.
Imagine falling and ending up in a coma, waking up and not being able to feel your legs, then recovering and participating in the All Valley Tournament again and making it to the semi-finals. Miguel didn't even lose to Hawk in the semi-finals; he actually forfeited after hurting his back trying to do a move he hadn't fully mastered. Also, Miguel Diaz was not focused because of what Johnny was saying to him, so that caused him to not be motivated as well.
Many fans think that Miguel would easily defeat a prime Daniel LaRusso, Prime Johnny Lawrence, and I agree. Kenny became Cobra Kai's top male fighter when Robby left. In season 5 of Cobra Kai, we saw Kenny defeat Hawk and nickname him Fo-Hawk; even though he cheated, he still gave Hawk a hard time. We also saw him and Robby fighting until Miguel came in and saved Robby. Miguel defeated Kenny so easily that he wasn't even a challenge.
Miguel trained with Miyagi-Do, Eagle Fang, and Cobra Kai. He's an excellent fighter, and he's also the favourite to win the Sekai Taikai tournament.
